Zombies. It's gotta be zombies.

By some combination of human action and the forces of nature, a special rabies-like pathogen will emerge and spread throughout the world. It will be capable of mutating humans at an accelerated rate, and resistant from antibiotics and vaccines. It will be unlike any other virus that the world has ever seen.
