Peter Petrelli: You've never been in a fight before, have you? Consider that at this point you're probably the most powerful person present, as you do have access to every power Sylar has and more, and yet your amazing tactic in the ultimate showdown of ultimate destiny is to walk up to Sylar and punch him? No wonder why you're getting your ass kicked by Sylar so much. Future Peter wouldn't have done that. Hell, part of me wanted to see New York City nuked so that we get to see Future Peter again.
Also, it's wonderfully heroic for Nathan Petrelli to sacrifice himself for the good of New York City, though I wonder why you couldn't have flown yourself into the stratosphere, considering that you've absorbed his powers? Did you really need your brother to give you a lift, considering that you'd blow him up in the process?
Hiro Nakamura: Good job saving Ando from Sylar. However, part of me wonders what would have happened if, instead of teleporting Ando and yourself away, you just froze time right there and stabbed Sylar? It was the same tactic you tried last episode, and barring premature time-unfreezing (which shouldn't happen since you've suddenly become much more proficient in the one day that has passed), it has a 100% success rate. Also Matt Parkman wouldn't have been shot, Nathan Petrelli wouldn't have been blown up, and we wouldn't have had to risk New York becoming nuked. Then again, you're not the only one with this problem. I wondered why Mohinder Suresh didn't just put a bunch of bullets into the unconscious Sylar's head several episodes back when he had knocked Sylar out with the map stand.
Just a side note, when you consider the Hollywood TV network's encyclopedia of cliches and stereotypes, you should have probably beheaded Sylar or something. It's the one true way in a dramatic series to ensure that a villain doesn't come back again, especially since Sylar has been known to come back after being shot and after being drugged to death.
Sylar: I have to wonder, if your telekinetic reflexes are quick enough that you can stop bullets before they hit you, how come you were slow enough to let Hiro teleport in, pause, and stab you? There wasn't even any visible time freezing on Hiro's part. Ando could have taken you.
Claire Bennet: I understand your hesitation at shooting Peter, your uncle and friend who is also the only one who makes you feel normal. However, did you forget that he absorbed your powers? You can stand there all day filling him up with bullets, and he'll regenerate. I'll bet he wouldn't be going 'splodey when he wakes up, too.
------
In all seriousness, the episode had some great moments and some beautifully shot dramatic scenes, but they really need to get someone who knows good action scripting and directing.
I'll also put the same caveat as before, that in the finest tradition of the Nitpicker's Guide to Star Trek, I do this out of good humor, and not out of dislike of the show, although I do think some of the inconsistencies did get out of hand near the end.
