Well, last week went steadily downhill. The weekend served adequately as a recovery session and now, here we are starting all over again. Cross your fingers for me and the whole world; there were at least four premature deaths last week that were linked to me by various degrees of separation ( Read more... )

Sorry to hear about last week's horrors. The the degrees of separation were relatively large (not that that lessens the deaths, but does lessen the pain.)

I love that Seth's ear are so finely tuned that they can identify acrylic. It's very impressive.

No, not a spinner yet, especially not spindle. I can't even figure out which way the spindle is supposed to go, and do you hang it in the air? Put it on the table? How is it supposed to work? I'm totally bewildered. However, I was considering going to the Shepherd's Extravaganza at the Puyallup spring fair next weekend, so maybe I am a teeny bit of a spinner. More likely, I'm a spinster.

Unfortunately one of the deaths was a family member, so not all that big a separation, but the misunderstanding is not your fault so I will avoid details in this comment. I should maybe not have mentioned it b/c it's just making me think about it, not a happy thing in the office. Argh. Sorry, I don't know how to talk about it.

The spindle hangs and spins... I have to sit down to do it thus far, so my shoulders get really tired and it's very slow. But I did spin up all the fiber I had so maybe I should go to the fair and see if they have any more. (I could also buy some roving at HT since I don't want to patronize that one store.)

Do I admit to you that I patronized that store to buy the two lace patterns? I feel horrible about it, but I didn't want to wait to order them over the web. Damn them and their good single pattern selection.

Yes, I think you need more roving. And I think it requires a trip to the fair. The sheeps! And llamas! And crazy fiber people! (And all the other scariness that's involved with the Puyallup fair. I keep forgetting it's more than just sheep.)

I'm mentally justifying my next trip there already. I'm supporting a local store, etc etc. Years ago, they were nice there, relatively. And there are still some nice people who work there. Sigh.

When are you planning to go to this fair? I don't know if I have to work Saturday and Sunday is Shannon's moving day, I think. Oh and then there are those Monday deadlines. Can we take a speed train to the fair? Don't we have a bullet train yet?
