Yep.

Well, last week went steadily downhill. The weekend served adequately as a recovery session and now, here we are starting all over again. Cross your fingers for me and the whole world; there were at least four premature deaths last week that were linked to me by various degrees of separation.

So before I get to work I need to show a knitting progress picture from Friday. Here's the second Sockapaloooza sock on the left; it's now en route to a toe, just past the instep shaping basically. I was able to strategize on the second sock and that helped immensely, though I think/hope you can't actually tell the difference.

On the right is a baby blanket, also much further along now after the weekend, that's part of a set I'm designing for Hilltop. Yarn is Nashua June. Yesterday, Seth to me, "Is that the acrylic yarn?" "Yes." "So that's why it's making that sound." It's really quite nice acrylic yarn; everyone thinks it's cotton and it's washable, which is critical. We'll see if it ends up selling lots of the June or June and various other DK weight yarns.

Oh. And I spent hours yesterday spinning, which is quite unusual. I actually gave myself a bit of a blister, very strange, but I also think I got better at it. I listened to an audiobook and spun away with the drop spindle. Probably I'm doing it half wrong and I may never know because I'm not planning to take a class anytime soon and none of my friends are spinners. OR ARE THEY? (I'm looking at you, Ms. vellumblue.)

monday morning, knitting, mourning, sockapaloooza, sadness, spinning
