Seth's socks

Relaxing after the ride:

Ready to go:

Inspired by Alison. Regia Nation Color sock yarn in 5397 (German/Belgian colors). Size 2 needles, 64 stitches, very basic top-down sock pattern and totally worth the effort. I bought Italian nation color yarn as well and thought about making myself some socks with it, but after riding with Seth as he wears these, I'm all about making him more. If you spend a lot of time riding behind someone on a bicycle and watching their feet to see if they're slowing down, turning, avoiding potholes, the experience is vastly improved by seeing colorful socks that you knitted yourself on those feet. His usual socks are grey and black, which gets quite tedious--and harder to see. The flashes of color really make it easier and more fun to ride with him, something I didn't foresee.

Oh and Seth wants to know if there's enough yarn left over for wrist warmers. Yes, but they're way down on the knit list, for better or for worse.

ETA: I bought the yarn from http://www.carodanfarm.com/. I recently found they carry this type of yarn at Acorn Street in Seattle, but when I was there, the color selection was quite limited. I did pick up some rosewood Lantern Moon DPNs there, though.
