Christmas Wreaths

So what do you do when you purchase 1000+ glass ornaments at the end of the season 2005. You save them until 2006 with an idea in your head. You spend about 1.5 hours just sorting the ornaments into baskets according to color. You get this:

At some point at the beginning of this year, I came up with this idea that would allow me to craft many different things for my family. My goal was to craft a decoration for each of the major holidays (Easter, Valentine's Day, 4th of July, Christmas, etc), put each holiday decoration together, and give a "Holiday Decorations" gift box to various recipients for Christmas. So the person would receive a year full of decorations! I always see these great crafts and I want to try them all. These wreaths are my Christmas portion of the gift. I still have four more to make.

I purchased the ornaments after Christmas last year when things were marked down 75% off or 90% off. Something crazy. But I wanted to make glass ornament wreaths (it's the craft that made me join craftgrrl just so I could post a question regarding them). I got over $100 worth of ornaments for about $30-$35. It should come out to about $10 per wreath to make (including the wreath frames, ornaments, hot glue, etc). Here are the first six:

I had a hard time getting a picture of the purple ornaments to come out the right color. This is the closest - but the purple is a warm/pink purple no blue at all. Oh well.

Here is a link to some directions similar to what I did. http://www.hgtv.com/hgtv/crafting/article/0,1789,HGTV_3352_1528992,00.html
I found it after the fact. I did two different type wreaths - some with the wire frames like in the link and some with a green foam ring that I covered in ribbon before using hot glue to attach ornaments. I did not wrap the rings with wire - just lots of hot glue!

Thanks for looking!
