Altering a pattern for a dog sweater

I have a pattern for a basic dog sweater knitted in one piece with straps to fasten across the neck and belly. The original pattern is sized for toy/small breeds but I want to make it for a Rottie/German Shepherd mix. Will the basic measurements - neck, girth, length - be enough to "size up" the pattern?

It should. But if you want to check, just do a gauge swatch and compare it against the dog's measurements. Knits by nature are fairly stretchy (cables and colorwork not included), so even if it's not 100% comparable, it should be fine.
