There are other things you can use, other than embroidery hoops, but at the moment, I am drawing a blank.
Generally, the netting used is cheese cloth that has been treated with modge podge in order to have the print screen blocked off properly.

If embroidery hoops don't work out, I nailed netting to an old, empty picture frame.

it might be easier to just glue/staple netting to a home made frame. it would be way easier to print from something with four sides rather than circular.
