Downtown Detroit reminded Sam of pictures he'd seen of Baghdad or Sarajevo after the bombings. Burnt out husks of buildings towered above them, twisted hunks of steel with busted-out windows that loomed like malevolent spirits.
This is a crossover that I never would have imagined, but it works so well. Dean is so broken in it, and Eric is written PERFECTLY.

This is a VERY dark story. I was a bit tentative to read this because I generally prefer my RPS to be a lot of schmoop, but this was wonderfully written and not at all gratuitous.

Jensen doesn’t really realize that things have changed until they do. With Jared, it’s always a secret; Sandy won’t know, Sandy can’t know. Jensen is used to sneaking around, watching Jared leave whenever Sandy comes calling.
I don't know who I feel more sad for - Jensen for not getting the love he needs from Jared, or Jared for not being able to GIVE it. Beautiful, as is the rest of the verse.
