I upgraded successfully from Fedora Core 2 to Fedora Core 4 from CD with little hassle (some non-standard RPMs had to be rebuilt/reinstalled). However, now there's only one screensaver showing up in the system's list (which doesn't even work--it throws some sort of an xscreensaver error), wheras before the upgrade there were maybe fifty or so ( Read more... )

Actually, I'm somewhat disappointed by it. I like maybe two songs off of it... and it's a moderate like, at that. The new CD just seems so... I dunno. Artificial. Constructed. Plastic. It lacks substance.

It sounds like Trent Reznor was hanging around Ben Folds and Dave Grohl a little too much.

They were removed to cut down on the number of cd's needed to install Fedora. They were moved over to the Fedora Extras repository, which is enabled by default in FC4. To add more screensavers, you just need to:

yum install xscreensaver-extras

and if you want the OpenGL screensavers:

yum install xscreensaver-gl-extras

/B

it's funny how you have all these tags for all this different stuff and one that says 'geeky' but I'd say every tag was geeky :P

:-P

geeky is a catch-all tag. Anything that could be considered geeky will be given that tag. The others are specific, so if I want to find an entry specifically about Fedora, then I just have to look at fedora.
