The First Day - Origin [Action]

[It's been a week now since Bruce landed in Luceti.  Being the detective he is renowned for back home, he was quick to study Luceti, the guide, and other aspects about the place as quickly as he could.  Being caught unprepared might be lethal.  So when he was confident he had absorbed enough through the guide, simple experimentation, and the like ( Read more... )

[He's not the only one wandering around the village. In an attempt to avoid a certain affectionate Master and the date that today is, Luka can be found walking around town as she sings without much care for the world. Though to be honest, more than just walking she's dancing softly and twirling around as she moves on, almost like a dancing spirit. May want to stop her, or follow her, before she's gone across the streets.]

[He's taken when he hears the voice, admittedly. He turns his head to the source, to see it coming from a very pretty young woman. When she passes by, though, he'll approach and speak up. And he might be clapping too. It's only polite.]

You've got a beautiful voice, miss.

[Well, that makes her stop twirling around. She blinks, not recognizing the man approaching her and smiles warmly.]

Thank you, mister. I'm pleased to know you enjoyed my singing.

Are you a professional, or is it just a hobby? You're very good, either way.

[He returns that smile.]

[Enjoy your cup of coffee. And don't mind the sixteen years old teen, drinking a glass of whiskey besides you. Ikki sure isn't paying you any attention.]

[Oh, he can and will enjoy his coffee. But he glances over and sees the younger man... well, drinking. A bit of a surprise. But he's not built like some kid from Gotham. No, he's built like a fighter, and there's a certain intensity to his eyes that give away that he's more than he seems. Well. Time to not play it up much. He knows Luceti doesn't have liquor laws and though he'd be quick to correct this kid in Gotham, this isn't Gotham. Plus, he has an image to play up. That of a more unassuming laid-back businessman wage-worker.]

How's the booze here, anyway?

[Sometimes even Ikki has trouble with remembering how old he is. He has gone through a lot in a short span of time after all. He still hasn't gotten used enough to people talking to him to avoid showing a brief surprise and confusion about it for a minute. It quickly goes away and it's better than the reaction he usually had at first.]

Good enough, I suppose. I haven't tried it anywhere else.

Hope this place hasn't driven people to drinking too much.

[Said as more of an idle thought.]

But I'll keep that in mind for later. Bit too early for me to start drinking. [He raises his coffee cup to him.] Name's Gaff Morgan. Nice to meet you.

[There's a kid playing alone and around the bar by the time Bruce walks out of it. The scene may be curious at least, dozens of paper airplane laying around. The kid crouched on a side as he works on another one, then he sets it to fly and the kid runs after it chasing it happily in circles until the unavoidable crash against the floor. The kid will crouch again and check it, if it's not too damaged he will try to make it fly once more if not he will return to his first position to make another plane.]

[He'll look over to the kid playing alone with the paper airplanes. Aw. He can't very well leave that alone. Even Batman has a heart, man. ...Especially Batman.

So he'll walk on over and pick up one of the damaged paper airplanes discarded on the floor, and smooth out bent and misshapen nose of it, examining to see if it would fly again. Either way, there's a smile on his face and in his voice as he addresses the kid playing here alone.]

Building an air force?

[The kid looks up with expectation upon hearing footsteps approach him, but it's not Gojyo and thus the expression falls from his face a bit, replaced with confusion at the man's question.]

What's an air force?

[Either way he will stand up and run closer to him to look at the airplane Bruce had picked up.]

It won't fly anymore. Can you fix it?

[Must be from a world without one. Well...]

An air force is a military group who fly a bunch of airplanes to protect their home country.

[He smooths the wings on this one a bit. It's still beat up and put through its paces, but...]

I can try.

[And he'll keep working on repairing it for a moment before giving it a toss. It'll glide quite nicely for one that had been so damaged. Just a few new folds did the trick.]
