 [It's been a week now since Bruce landed in Luceti.  Being the detective he is renowned for back home, he was quick to study Luceti, the guide, and other aspects about the place as quickly as he could.  Being caught unprepared might be lethal.  So when he was confident he had absorbed enough through the guide, simple experimentation, and the like

[Enjoy your cup of coffee. And don't mind the sixteen years old teen, drinking a glass of whiskey besides you. Ikki sure isn't paying you any attention.]

[Oh, he can and will enjoy his coffee. But he glances over and sees the younger man... well, drinking. A bit of a surprise. But he's not built like some kid from Gotham. No, he's built like a fighter, and there's a certain intensity to his eyes that give away that he's more than he seems. Well. Time to not play it up much. He knows Luceti doesn't have liquor laws and though he'd be quick to correct this kid in Gotham, this isn't Gotham. Plus, he has an image to play up. That of a more unassuming laid-back businessman wage-worker.]

How's the booze here, anyway?

[Sometimes even Ikki has trouble with remembering how old he is. He has gone through a lot in a short span of time after all. He still hasn't gotten used enough to people talking to him to avoid showing a brief surprise and confusion about it for a minute. It quickly goes away and it's better than the reaction he usually had at first.]

Good enough, I suppose. I haven't tried it anywhere else.

Hope this place hasn't driven people to drinking too much.

[Said as more of an idle thought.]

But I'll keep that in mind for later. Bit too early for me to start drinking. [He raises his coffee cup to him.] Name's Gaff Morgan. Nice to meet you.

Doubt so, sometimes it's appreciated the effect it has on one. But only as long as you don't get drunk.

[Ikki generally stops as soon as he finds himself thinking too much on his brother and the others. At first the alcohol helps to kind of shrug everything away but after a while it brings it all back with extra force.]

[...Back? Welcome back?! Had he been here before?! What in the name of heaven is going on? ...Well, if Superman was here, it was possible that he was here before, right? But why didn't he remember? The look on his face definitely looks like he's taken aback. Which he is.]

Back? What do you mean? I've never been to this place before.

[Well, Ikki looks briefly surprised, but then again it was to be expected. Maybe he should have watched his mouth.]

Sometimes when people leave and return they have no memories of this place. Sometimes they retain them. I've no personal experience with that, but I know your Cosmos... Your energy, was here before while I was here as well.

I never met you though, so that's all I can tell you.

[He shrugs, it's not really important, or is it?]

I see. That's. I'm not sure if that's reassuring or not, remembering this place or forgetting it.

[...He was right to play it cautious then. Any guilt he may have had about lying about who he was is instantly gone. He made a good call. So he'll just be more careful from here out. But from here out, changing the subject might be wise. He can't appear as though he has something to hide.

Of course, Ikki might just be messing with him. But there's something about the person's demeanor and actions that tells him he's not lying.]

...But you can sense energy from people? Never heard of anything like that before.

[Ikki just hums at that first comment. He could have been more helpful had he known the man before, but as things are he never met him and he doesn't care much. Neither he cares enough to concentrate in the man's Cosmos and notice that it feels like less developed than before, as if he was younger. It wouldn't really matter anyway, would it?

He's not surprised about hearing that Bruce had never heard of it before.]

Even back at my world not many people know about Cosmos, it's probably for the better. But yes, I was trained since little to control my own energy and coupled with that came the ability to sense people's energy. Not only people's but those are the energies one could care the most about. I had the habit back home to keep track of everyone's energy around as far as my senses could reach, and I kept it up upon arriving here.

[It will be useful if someone he knows shows around.]

Sounds useful, but sounds like something that took an enormous amount of discipline to do.

Don't have anything like that back where I'm from. Best as I know, anyway.

Several years of a living hell to be exact. Many don't survive the training beyond the first week.

[And it takes years so... Enormous amount of discipline? That's kind of an understatement.]

Well, as I said even back at my own world most of the world remains ignorant of it so I'm not surprised. It's useful but it's also a huge power, not many would give it a good use, so it's better to keep it as a secret in the shadows.

Well, some secrets are meant to be kept. It's better that way.

[Said unironically.]

I won't pry any further, then.

[Oh, he wants to. But now it gives him something to try to research at some point. If it's that secret, odds are there won't be material in the library, but...]

It's not something that can be learned without a teacher though, just knowing about it serves for nothing.

[It's one of the good things of this. Otherwise Seiya's friend would be dealing with an orphanage full of kids who used their Cosmos recklessly. Anyway, Ikki returns his attention to his drink.]
