I nearly lost a hand today... all this time I could have been studying machinery like this, and I didn't think it necessary. Damned lack of foresight... Is there still a library? I should familiarize myself with the basics before anyone takes issue with my productivity

I have begun to notice such patterns are prevalent in this world. Events such as this rarely last more than a week before the status quo resumes.

Of course, this particular instance seems to be beyond the ken of our typical captors, in which case I suppose we had best grow used to the taste of beets now. [this is cornelius' sad attempt at a joke.]
