I'm no expert but well, in photoshop, since you're a beginner and all, try using layers. Experiment with it. And while you're at it, look for tutorials that can help. One that helped me is this: LINKY!

It's from an old thread but can be trusted because this KiDCHan person is AWESOME with colouring, and Comic Fiesta is a Malaysian Animanga community that organizes an event (Comic Fiesta, CF for short) once a year, kinda like Comiket

Anyways, thanks so much for the links! I've already started using layers and playing around with different things, which has been fun. I think the biggest thing is still the skin. I haven't found a way of shading, blending, and highlighting that I really like. My normal technique that I use with colored pencils doesn't work, so I guess I'll just have to keep trying! *nods*

O...ohman! That's r-really hott *O*** and are you serious?! This is GREAT as a first photoshop piece! One thing I'd suggest, though, is to maybe make the shading more obvious and to not be afraid of destroying your picture with strange color combos because hey, if you don't like it, then you can get rid of the layer and start anew ♥♥♥
