By the time they get to the police station to report the car stolen, Elizabeth is too tired to want to deal with any of it. The police keep them waiting, and she ends up half in Nathan's lap, her head against his thigh while she idly texts Fish from her pinpoint. Spending a good part of her day wandering around a nastier part of NYC in heels hadn't actually been on her agenda this morning, nor had arguing with Brody about whether or not he needed a doctor or finding that her car had been stolen.

In retrospect, though, considering the rest of the day she probably should've anticipated that last thing. She sighs very slightly and tucks one foot under the other, closing her eyes. She's so close to sleeping that she barely notices when Nathan extricates himself from beneath her, lets her settle and discreetly locates the police chief.

It's a little while later that Elizabeth feels a touch on her shoulder. "Wake up, Elizabeth. They seem to have sorted out the paperwork and they'd like to apologise for this delay, so they've called us a taxi."

"Excellent." There are some rather drawn expressions on the faces behind Dr Scaevola, but she's really not in the frame of mind to think too hard about that. "Thank you." She swings her feet off and rises, pressing her hand briefly to her temple and shaking the lingering drowsiness off.

Funnily enough, after this Elizabeth doesn't have much difficulty with the local PD.
