Quote from "Into the Black"

Thought I might start up some conversation about this particular quote that I found most interesting.

I guess I wasn’t really paying attention the first time I watched this. Sometimes that happens - you are so busy trying to get what is going on that you miss some things.

During my current rewatch (almost done with the finale), my shipper heart is ( Read more... )

I have no doubt that he loves her, and she certainly has more to lose than he does. And I agree that she was being over-dramatic. With everything that had been going on she kind of just blew up - but it made for a great scene!! At least with Nikola he is consistently the bad guy - in a way. Druitt on the other hand is constantly disappointing us and Helen. I don't think she can take any more of it.

The line she has in "Out of the Blue" was rather interesting as well, even though they were in a dream - she said that she married a man she hated. And like I said, I know it was a dream world, but at that time in the episode, she was starting to remember who she really was. Very interesting....

This is why I love LJ and all my friends. I never thought of the fact that maybe John can't take any more of this either. That is brilliant and makes so much sense! The only time that he has been able to really not think about everything that he has done was when he was high on whatever concoction he had mixed up when Helen found him in Cambodia. Even then he was miserable. It just seems such a leap from Helen's reaction in FKC to her statement in Into the Black about her never wanting to see him again. And of course so much has happened between those episodes that she has a right to be upset ( ... )

If the things he's suffered and the people he's killed in the last hundred years aren't worth as much to Helen as her achievements, well, John's not the one looking bad here!

OMG! I think that is very interesting. There is a lot to consider - So much was caused by them having injected the Source Blood - both good and bad. Even just seeing the episode Normandy, we can't even comprehend how many other situations were similar. But if you love someone, as I know she loved/loves him, it shouldn't be too much to ask. Maybe it is just scary for her...She knows how to handle her life the way it is, and John has expectations of what their life could have been...but how do they know that it would have turned out that way.

Here’s part 1 of my reply. LJ told me I had exceeded the character length allowed for a comment. About 7000 instead of 4300. Oops? (And I apologize for any English mistake. Didn’t have time to re-read myself. I have work to do ( ... )

(part 2)
Helen already had a lot of problems on her hands with the government and the UN and she had thought the Adam worth problem dealed with. Learning that it’s not, I think she’s just frustrated about the situation.
Everything she has worked for over the last 120+ years is crumbling around her (literally). Which might be causing her to react that way she did. She is already losing everything, and here is John who wants to go back and really get rid of everything she has worked for. I think that she is overwhelmed with how much she is about to lose that she can't handle it. He isn't wanting to help her fix everything...he wants to take it away. I don't think he wants to take it away, but that is how she is seeing it - IMO.

In way, I think she’s jealous of the new!Helen in the new timeline who’d be free of all the pain SHE had to go through.
Jealous? I don't know. And I loved what artaxastra said about Helen being selfish almost: "If the things he's suffered and the people he's killed in the last hundred years aren't worth as much to Helen ( ... )

Oh yes, I remember what she said and I must agree with it too!

Waiting for the premiere is killing me. I keep wondering what they will do, how they'll explain everything. I mean, they owe us a few explanations. And I want to know if present day!John is still alive (I'm thinking yes, but I'll have my doubts until we know fore sure) and what happened to him!

11 days.

ELEVEN LOOOOONG DAYS.
