i could not possibly be more self-involved if i tried. the whole world is crashing around me but i'm eating more or less the perfect, macrobiotic diet, mostly raw at this point, i'm in the best physical shape of my life, not smoking cigarettes, it's been a while since i've gotten drunk, and i've got my commune in virginia waiting for me in 10 days

Wow! While I'm sorely gonna miss reading your entries if you go offline, I have to salute you for having the courage to take a new path. And that's such a great profession - I'm sure you'll help a lot of people by doing it.

You're obviously in a good state of mind right now. I hope it stays with you for a long while.

Oh, and by living simply, earth friendly, and not playing by the consumerist herd mentality, you ARE singlehandedly smashing U.S. imperialism. You're rejecting it's whole raison d'etre -- to make money -- and dropping out of its whole crazy system to a certain extent.

Definitely I need to visit this commune. I'm probably like 2 hours away from it.

hmm that's a very good point, i guess i am sorta...i mean, my fundamental beliefs and goals haven't changed, i guess it's more just the means by which i try to achieve them. yeah. anyway definitely come down for a saturday tour whenever you're free!! i'll be checking my email there, not every day but at least once or twice a week, so give me a heads up so i can finally meet you!

DOOOO IIIIIITTTTTTT. seriously, the next free saturday you have, just drive down (if you have your license& a car, that is) and take a tour! it would also be good for you if you're thinking about doing a 3 week visit for winter term, since it'll give you a sense of what it's like. if you couldn't make it on a saturday you could just come whenever and i could show you around myself. but seriously, i highly reccomend it. i mean, there's a fucking TOFU FACTORY on the commune, how can you say no to that? :-)
