I'm here. I promise I'm reading whenever I can, but I'm pretty ashamed to admit that I've only really read about half of what's been posted in the past few weeks. I'm also ashamed that I haven't been commenting on people's journals for such a long time- has it been months? Sometimes I've just not known what to say, and sometimes I've tried to ( Read more... )

It's such a huge subject I don't even know where to begin! But I will probably write at least some of it out in the near-ish future :)

Please don't feel guilty! Everyone takes hiatuses. :)

I'm sure you're terrified! But imo don't let that stop you from going abroad.

I'm definitely not letting it stop me. Now that I'm working through all the applications and official crap, I'm starting to feel like it's actually a real thing that's going to happen instead of just a vague daydream. I'm starting to sell off some of my stuff, because there's no way I can store everything for two years! So my house is looking different, and that freaks me out a bit too. And because winter is just starting here and my joints don't do so well in damp weather and my mood kinda plummets in winter, I'm worrying about how I'll cope with English weather...

But then I remind myself that I'll be going to SCA events in actual castles and sometimes it'll snow and it's gonna be so cheap and so easy to travel to the rest of Europe and I'll be able to see my family in the Netherlands every now and then, and it seems like an awesome idea all over again :)
