I know coming here can be kind of a shock, so just taking it easy and working things out ( Read more... )

[Now that Xion's come back and Luke had the opportunity to be with her and carry her back while she had a soaking white dress, score, he's... not quite as mopey as he has been. There's still the fact that Asch is missing, and Guy is just... back to his normal self like nothing happened, and...

Ugh.

Luke can be found in the kitchen, having barely touched the glass of water he fetched for himself in favor of tapping the glass and watching the surface ripple for a second. Maybe if he puts himself into a trance, he can figure out how to use the connection between him and Asch. He doesn't see how he does it... But he isn't really paying attention to anything else, either.]

[Guy will eventually breeze his way into the kitchen, notice Luke moping about at the table and will politely pretend that's not what he's doing in favor of getting some things together for lunch.]

Luke, I'm going to make some lunch. Want any?

[Well, that makes him jump and just about tip the glass of water over.]

Gah! [He GRABS THE CUP AND SAVES THE TABLE FROM GETTING SOAKED, though some water still manages to slosh out. With a sigh and a LOOK shot to Guy, he settles back and twirls what's left of the water.]

Sure.

[Geez, what was that?]

What's that look for? All I did was walk in here.

[Dietary needs. Hm.]

Would you happen to have mercury in stock?

If you need it to survive, we probably do.

Mercury is but one thing I can subsist on... regardless, I'd like a drink. Please see if you can find any while I make my way there, Mr. Cecil.

[...] It's not like it's that simple, though. Sometimes, traditions aren't really something you choose, it's just a habit. Like find me one Japanese high schooler who doesn't reflexively take off their shoes when they go inside. Even I do things like that.

True; there are traditions that can become habits, and habits that can become traditions. If it's compulsive you really can't call it rigid though. Since rigidity is usually something people tend to rebel against consciously.

Calling a tradition rigid though is kind of polarizing things though.

I'm still getting a variety of answers though. I figured the diction wouldn't matter so much when it comes to casual discussion.

Whoa! There's a beach here too?

Oh and uh, I like traditions.

Yes there is, way out past the desert. It's a bit of a walk but I hear the water's nice.

Sounds pretty nice. I'll have to check it out, even if it's still a bit cold for it.

Don't worry, I think it's always hot out there.

You know, there could be someone who'd be willing to take you. I know there's a couple people here who can teleport, or at least there were.

[Asch doesn't respond for a long time. At least a day. It's not like he's busy- the hot spring area is hardly the place to keep one that preoccupied.

But upon receiving the message, Asch isn't entirely sure whether he wants to respond, and like Guy, he isn't certain that a response is wanted.

Still... it's been almost a week. Maybe that's enough time. He still has his doubts, but if Guy's taking the first step, it won't kill him to ask.

Even if it might feel that away sometimes.]

...Are you really?

[He's not going to lie and say he's sorry... because he's not. At all. He's never stopped believing in those words.]

Yes.

[Definitely sorry he said them, anyway.]

[Filtered] HOW CAN I NOT BE DRAMATIC OH EM GEEEE mirrorbirth March 19 2011, 04:49:34 UTC
[And he... really desn't believe that, now that he's heard it. Guy lies. He always lies, or tells half-truths, or keeps things hidden. It's not really a matter of guessing whether he is or not anymore- it's figuring out what it is.

And after speaking up, Asch starts to realize that he shouldn't have started this at all. They're not ready, are they? And they're not sorry.

This is a waste of time.]

Is that all you wanted to say?
