Hey there New Feathers; I'm Guy Cecil, proprietor -if I can call it that- and bartender for the Good Spirits bar, right next to the weapons shop and smithy and just down the street from the clinic. If you ever need a drink, a listening ear or some answers, I'll do my best to provide all three. I look forward to seeing new ( Read more... )

He just has nothing to do. mirrorbirth September 20 2009, 18:36:27 UTC
I'm still figuring that out. I just know that neither has worked for me, and I don't think it helped you much, either.

Oh that's so sweet, talking to Guy just because he's bored. count_gardios September 20 2009, 18:38:45 UTC
[Please note that Guy hasn't taken the effort to lock this, Asch.] I really don't think there's any other option than one of the two. You either get revenge, or you don't.

Criminals should pay for their crimes.

Is it considered a crime when you're doing what your king, or superior or whatever-you-have orders to you?

If it's wrong, you have the ability to not do it.

That's true.

What about killing in the name of self-defense? Is that wrong, too?

Morally we all say that it's best to forgive and forget... but in reality how many can truly do so?

Not many, I don't think. You've have to be some kind of saint to let something like that go.

A punishment to ensure that it never happens again would be appropriate, but revenge? Not necessarily.

Personally, I don't care if they feel a need to fight, they just need to take it to a better location if it happens again.

Agreed. At least out in the desert. There's kids here, after all.

Kids and many people who were not in the least bit involved. I didn't exactly like having to go out to help bring one of my friends home after he got knocked unconscious by that.

Even the forest would have been a better choice, but the desert would be ideal. As long as people have consideration for the others who live here, I feel that they should be permitted to do as they will.

Well, I have no problem if two people want to tear each other apart so long as innocent people don't get caught up in it, too.

Hm...that's a good way to look at it, I guess. How long can you refer to it as "reacting," though? Years, decades, generations?
