Hey there New Feathers; I'm Guy Cecil, proprietor -if I can call it that- and bartender for the Good Spirits bar, right next to the weapons shop and smithy and just down the street from the clinic. If you ever need a drink, a listening ear or some answers, I'll do my best to provide all three. I look forward to seeing new ( Read more... )

Is it considered a crime when you're doing what your king, or superior or whatever-you-have orders to you?

If it's wrong, you have the ability to not do it.

That's true.

What about killing in the name of self-defense? Is that wrong, too?

Self-defense, protection.. Yeah, I consider those legit reasons.

But the family of those people killed for the sake of self-defense and protection might view what you did as a crime. What should you do then?

.. I just know that if they commit the crime knowing what they were doing, then they can't be allowed to 'let live' like nothing happened.

Hm.

So...hypothetically speaking. A soldier is ordered by his General to kill a prisoner of war, an unwarranted execution. He knows if he refuses that he'll be court-martialed and discharged from the army, possibly putting himself permanently out of work and unable to support his family. Probably even branding himself a national disgrace. So he goes through with it.

Is that a crime?

Now that's heavy.

I figure, you can either live with the knowledge you allowed yourself to be used like that, or you can take a stand and have pride that you didn't. I wouldn't be able to live myself if I did something like that.

Hm. I see.

[what are these typos guh "knowledge THAT you", "to live WITH myself"]

What's with the questions? I don't think you're talking about the light show anymore.
