Perry is out. No way would he be chosen.

Cornyn is interesting, but I've heard he pretty much hates Romney. In fact, that might be a problem for many people. Romney is the opposite of beloved.

Romney is the opposite of universally-loved, but he is also the opposite of incompetent at convincing people to work together. Even people who hate him might consider running with him, for the benefit of the party (see: Cornyn, Daniels, or Hutchison.)
