I do buy the idea of Ianto as a dom so very much! I can't stand Captain John but I think Lust, Spite and Malice is a good, hot fic in spite of him. I hope it gets the second place.

The first place should be for Moving In, because it's great.

also cried out and released his own essence in blistering waves over the sheets below
Being realistic, I bet that one will be the winner :(

I've just read your review of 'Proof' by Ladygray99 and followed your link to the fic. I've read it, and while I do agree that parts of the plot are not entirely believable - the beginning stands out - I don't think the fic is actually that bad.

Whilst some of the grammar needs work, the spelling is OK; I didn't see any typos. The actual sex scene was good. As a rule I don't read TW slash, it isn't my kink, but I did enjoy reading this story.

I guess what I am trying to say is, yes review the fics, but be fair about it. Give credit where it is due, even if the fic is not your thing. The impression from your review of this fic, is that the fic is quite dire in how it is written and in the subject matter. That is not the case. There are some things that could be improved fair enough but not as many as you imply.

I didn't see any typos

Torchwood's doctor is called "Own" at one point. Jack moans that the stuff he has do is "really boarding". I liked the stuff about the couples' home videos, but the consistently bad speech punctuation and lack of commas (and the pretty horrific child abuse in the set-up) means I wouldn't have got that far into the fic if I hadn't been trying to give everything in this category a fair go based off these reviews.

You're welcome to your opinion, anon, but mine is that this was not a good story. As the other anon points out, there really are a number of typos, even if you missed them - and if you want to talk about "being fair," I didn't even call out all the issues I found with this story.

There are a number of places within these reviews and others I've written where I say "this isn't my thing, but if it's yours, you'll probably like this story." Were this a better story, I might have done that here. But it wasn't.

The other anon sez: also, I mentally screeched to a halt on the part where Owen mentions being caned by his headmaster, since school corporal punishment's been illegal in Britain for more than twenty years. It's a nitpicky anachronism, but it was enough to throw me out of the story as I wondered how that worked, whether Owen had been to boarding school, educated outside the UK, etc...
