Eeeeee! Thanks guys! It really is gratifying to see that the deeper thinky thoughts that I'm trying to convey do get through. It's always hard to tell with comments because people are generally just remarking on one chapter, not the greater whole, so I'm frequently uncertain of whether or not the themes I think I'm addressing are actually being addressed. OTFL and Held in Trust are my babies. Everything else I have nominated in this round is just some silly fluff stuff (not that there's anything at all wrong with silly fluff stuff), but these are the fics that I feel are most representative of who I am as a writer.
(In the interests of full disclosure for comment-readers, it should be noted that I'm also papilio_luna, so I am on staff here. So, you know, I know where these guys live-not that I'd ever come after them with rusty knives for lackluster reviews or anything. Or would I?)
I always love a story that starts by plunging us right into the middle of the action. We don’t have to wade through long exposition about the characters, and what they've been up to - those details will be interwoven later. Instead we begin with the narrative already in motion, we are swept up into the momentum, and taken for an adventurous ride.
Ay-freaking-MEN. I love this style. Glad to know I'm not the only one who enjoys it!
I'm a little sad that this is the final post, but I want my other reviewers to know that I've enjoyed reading your reviews, seeing your thinky thoughts, as it were, and enjoying fiction from across the fandom that I wouldn't normally enjoy because i trust your good word.
Thank you for the lengthy and thoughtful review. I had a lot of fun doing the work of researching and writing A Shift in Perspective, and I hoped readers would have fun reading it too.
Wow, I'm a little bit speechless over my review. Seriously, I'm overwhelmed over all the work that has obviously gone into this whole community. You guys have done a tremendous job.
I'm so happy you liked the review because it was hard to do the story justice. Honestly, it took me so long to get past the, "That's good. I like," stage and figure out the why, but I absolutely loved this story and the way it was written.
