It was about a month before that I gave up on XIV as well.
And I stopped WoW in March. So yeah...I think MMOs are a bit behind me. But I still like remembering the good old days we had.

There was one LS I had my eye on, but it's run by Catwho, and I remember that name but I don't remember why I remember that name. Were they a friend or an enemy? I don't know. I don't want to try and sign up and have someone go "I REMEMBER YOU, YOU TOOK MY AF2 HORN YOU MAGNIFICENT BASTARD."
I never even bought FFXIV; by the time I had the money to do it, the whole thing had fallen apart.

Judging from the FFXI forums, there's some crazy influx of returning old players right now - I can't explain it other than "WoW ennui" driving people back to their old haunts.
There's a Rift free trial going on this weekend which I'm going to try, but I think after that if I still feel Vana'diel calling me I will start FFXI up again and see how long it lasts. It'll be hard to fit it around WoW raiding, but from what I hear you can jump in and out of Abyssea pretty easily.
From the scraps I remember, I think Catwho was a white mage in IRON. She probably resurrected me a couple times, and that's the extent of our interaction.
