This is up to beautiful Cosmic Medusa standards. You begin with giving the boys such hope for a future and then yank it all agonizingly away. And Dean's heartbreak...vividly portrayed.

awww, I love the flashbacks! the last one gives you a summary of what Dean's life would be like from then on! this meanas the Singer got custody of Sam for however little time reamined? or John made a disappearing act and they just moved? mmmh...
so this is the (in)famous night of the brain injury! and even if I prefer to see Cas whenever possible, I kinda wanted to see this part of their history since the begining, so good job!

Yes! This is the night! I've had so many requests for it, and I wanted to write it anyway, but I have a little order in my head, and I needed to get through other fics before I got to this one!
We'll see John again by the end of this. And, while there's no Cas here, I'm trying to make his absence felt a bit. The chapter following this has some Cas/Sam brotherly love that I had a blast writing. Spoiler alert: gardening. :)
