Merlin and Arthur revert to something uglier and younger for large parts of the episode...
And it all breaks my heart, yet somehow, thanks to the two-sides-of-the-same-coin thing, they seem to always balance each other out and the other is willing to have faith and not give up. With Merlin having put Arthur on a pedestal and Arthur eventually having to come to grips with Merlin hiding his magic, it's all like looking at a pendulum of EPIC GAY LOVE that only stops moving during that scene on the beach when they are willing to sacrifice themselves for each other and, you know, DESTINY and, and PURE LOVE!

Thank god for that, as without it, my little heart would break into tiny unmendable pieces by minute 5 of every episode. And then of course DESTINY and PURE LOVE happens and makes it all infinitely better again.
I swear it's the stupid Clark/Lex PTSD acting up again. Because I can't help but think that it's all going to go horribly wrong, even when I know from the history/legend that doesn't happen. Until, you know, much, much later.

Dude, exactly. It's like still being uncertain about committing this hard because somewhere inside I'm still all broken up about that relationship. *whimpers*
BUT I WANT TO BELIEVE THAT THEIR PURE UNICORN APPROVED LOVE WILL PREVAIL.
(You're not getting the sexual vibes from the neck grabbing and rat soup eating? Though, yes, Merlin is a fair maiden, who does not go shagging hot princes until he's married to said hot prince. He's going to change his mind pretty soon, though, I think.)
