So, I was watching TV with the eldest and youngest--it still happens, oddly enough--in this cast it was The Big Bang Theory.

But we didn't have it on the DVR so we had to watch the commercials.

I was in the theater for...something and saw the Cowboys v.s. Aliens trailer. The problem is that it seems to think it is a serious movie. Which is clearly ridiculous. That is not a serious concept, and making a serious movie about it is nonsense.

Well, it's made by the same director who did the Iron Man movies. I suspect he can get real emotion into a similarly non-serious concept like this.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks the gnome movie looks idiotic. And iirc it's in 3D, too. Wtf?

I'm looking forward to Cowboys & Aliens too. By the way, have you picked up the comics it's based on for the minions? If I like the movie I'll probably track down the TPB.

And I think Gnomeo and Juliet looks stupid too. I read an article on Yahoo that said Elton John is tied to it and has been trying to get it made for years.

Ah, it's a pet project of someone with some influence. Well, that does explain it a little better.

And, no, I haven't seen the comic. I don't live close enough to a local shop to browse, so I miss stuff. But now i need to go looking!
