A debt collector for twenty dollars? How much is the collector charging the hospital? The priorities in US hospitals are messed up.

If you made EFT to the hospital then you can check your statement and prove the payment was made. Same for if you paid by cheque.

ETA I will try to head off "political" conversations by stating that I'm not debating which people are allowed to be classed as people. Doesn't always work (one uncle thinks he's Trump's psychic or something *eyeroll* so he has to be shut down by "Oh God not MORE on Trump!" in the most obnoxious voice imaginable - even if the subject is BLM or LGBTQIA matters) But I hate hate hate when ppl try to force those convos on me.

seriously. I called them and they're like oh no, we'll fix it right now and they did. I know what happened. My health savings account has stopped paper statements but never gave me online access and the banks weren't open to fix it so I had no idea how much was in the account. It was overdrawn so the payment didn't go thru.

Ihave several family members who live for political debate. Thank god my brother no longer is one of them.
