"What am I gonna do? Slay vampires on stage?" "Maybe in a funny way!" (btvs 1:9)

On my birthday I received a wealth of gift certificates to buy TV shows on DVD and I totally splurged. I am now the proud owner of The Office S3 (I already have S1 & S2), 30 Rock S1, Friday Night Lights S1, Joan of Arcadia S2 (I already own S1) and Pride & Prejudice (A&E Miniseries). [Aside to carmen_sandiego, the A&E version is still the first in my heart. *g*] ( Read more... )

So, yeah, FNL? It is not possible to not love this show.

Not. Possible. Period.

Yes! We bought it the day it was released and then stayed up till like three and four a.m. every night for a week marathoning it! I'm not sure whether I would have made it through the first four episodes had I watched as it aired, but we're both so in love with it and so excited for season two!

OMG!!!! I'm so very very excited to hear that!!! That's so awesome! And it's especially great to hear that you're both in love with the show and have been watching it together.

It really is impossible to not LOVE the show. FNL is the show I'm most excited about for the new season. :D Yay!

hee! So true - we *must* pick a P&P side! Fortunately it's not a horrible fan schism like the whole Buffy/Spike vs Buffy/Angel one in the Buffy fandom. hee, and that's great that you haven't seen it in a while! It's sometimes good to take a break cause then it feels fresher when watching it again.

They're some awesome moments! And the comedy clips definitely work out of context of the shows. I am SO EXCITED about HIMYM too! It's such a fabulous show. It would definitely be a fun show to own the DVDs for. :D

Oh yes! That's a lovely moment! I was having a hard time remembering favourite moments from Bones and House - both of which I love - because of their procedural format (I remember things in terms of arcs so it was harder to remember when the character stuff happened because of how it's structured around a case of the week.) Love Hodgins/Angela! :D

Heeee! What a great list Cordy. Thanks muchly for all the links. And glad to see you're enjoying FotC because YAY! :)
this youtube vid is a compilation of all the moments when Hiro showed his enthusiasm.
::nods like a nodding thing::
The incredible range of emotions displayed by Lauren Graham is Emmy-worthy, too bad the Emmys totally ignored her and GG as usual.
The thing I loved about that scene was that you knew that LG could sing really well, but she portrayed it really well how Lorelai might approach singing at a karaoke. She was good but she wasn't overwhelmingly stunning like so many of these shows do when someone gets up to sing. And the cool way it moved from Rory to Luke was heartswellingly good. Awwwwww :)
However, I really loved much of the Cristina/Burke storyline so I found a moment that I thought exemplifies what a great couple they were. (Aside: The George and Izzy storyline? Definitely not on the favourite moments list.)So so so so so so so so so with you on both counts. Though I guess Burke will never be no more. Also ( ... )

I'm absolutely loving FOTC! I'm so happy that they're doing well over here. I just adore both Bret and Jemaine. They have this real sweetness to them. And speaking of sweet, Hiro's just adorable too!

And the cool way it moved from Rory to Luke was heartswellingly good.
I absolutely agree about how Lauren Graham performed it - it felt very real. And yes!! So heartswellingly good. It frequently moves me to tears.

Yeah, it's too bad about Burke not being on the show any longer (cause in my mind the character is very separate from the actor - although I can see how that's less possible for his coworkers). And I also don't understand why they can't keep George and Izzy as friends - it was such a great friendship. It's possible for people to be friends, not lovers too! *shakes head*

Yay for hitting on some of your favourite moments. And that's so awesome that I introduced you to the awesomeness of 30 Rock!

HIMYM is really a charming and funny show. It's one that I'm most looking forward to returning. I heard about Robin Sparkles being back this year - that's so awesome!!

They don't make a statement about his sexuality, probably because of his age, but they communicate how difficult it can be for a young gay person if he doesn't have accepting family.Definitely! It's so fantastically well done. Ugly Betty does a good job with over-the-top humour, and also with the sweet character stuff ( ... )

Reaper could go either way, but I'm hoping it'll be good because Kevin Smith is involved. I'm going to give it a chance.

Chuck looks like it could be amusing. Or horrifyingly bad. Previews are so misleading sometimes.

I'd been looking forward to Bionic Woman until I heard they hired that idiotic Isiah Washington. *rolls eyes* Anybody with judgment that bad may not be ready to produce a tv series.

Greenwalt left Moonlight, huh?! That could mean anything. I've not read anything about it beyond the thing about him being with it. Well, I'll give the premiere a look. If it's no good, I've only lost an hour. *g*

I'm also going to check out Journeyman on NBC. It's time travel - one of my big kinks - and stars the actor from HBO's Rome who played Vilius. (Sorry, my tired brain has blanked on his name for the time being.) Can't think of anything else - off-hand - that I'm looking forward to ( ... )

Oh my goodness, it's taken me so long to reply because I've been completely sucked into trying to watch the crazy amount of TV I always try to watch (and have a life too!). I've been enjoying both Reaper and Chuck. They're both very fun, and fun is always good in my books ( ... )

I've only seen half the shows on your list but agree with those different moments except for BSG's. The use of the song just threw me out of the show and I'm hoping something in the upcoming season explains its use. OTOH the reveal of the additional Cylons was a very cool moment (especially the continuing mystery of the last one) so close enough.

My other favorite from last season was from SPN, namely these lines:

Sam: I kinda can't believe it, Dean. I mean our whole lives, everything has been prepping for this and now I... I kinda don't know what to say.

Dean: I do. That was for our mom, you son of a bitch.

I wasn't all that impressed with the finale as a whole, but that part was perfect.

Oh, that's interesting that the song on BSG didn't work for you. I really liked that it was a unique version to the show. I can see how it could throw you out of the show although for me, it really made the whole revelation so much more intense somehow. And oh yeah, the Cylon revelation is very very cool!

That's great that you loved that moment in the SPN finale even if you didn't like it overall. (I admit that I lost interest in the show and stopped watching.) That does sound like a great moment! :D
