And with a few minutes to spare, here’s the last chapter for the day. “Think Seventh Heaven,” Willow says in a low tone. “You know, where they have to talk about sex all the time just so you don’t forget how bad it is. Especially if you’re a girl. I mean, you do realize, Buffy, that no matter how nice and sweet he seems now, even Angel would become a total monster after... you know.” She waves her hand in the non-verbal equivalent of you know.

Buffy raises an eyebrow. “Melodramatic much?”

“How can you even suggest this’ll suck?” Jesse flops down beside Xander. “We get to see if Dobson’ll go for the blue sweater three-peat.

Oh, good heavens, I think I just hurt myself. (It's funny 'cause it's true. It's ALL true. *g*)

And besides, he rationalizes as he kisses Spike back harder, wasn’t Dobson talking about men and women? He never said two guys should follow his rules.

That is a truly *impressive* piece of rationalization, Xander, all things considered. (I adore this story. Everyone is so in character, and yet the setting works perfectly, and it's just so funny and teenage and wonderful.)

But the *best* part, bar none, was Willow's comment to Buffy about Angel becoming a monster after "you know."

I look forward to the conclusion!

I'm pleased you enjoyed the comments about Dobson. I just had to include stuff about him, he is such an object of mockery (or that's how I feel it's best to deal with him and his scary ideas!). heee - Xander is good at the rationalization! And I'm delighted about you enjoying Willow's comment - I couldn't resist include that!

Despite my lame length of time it's taken me to respond, I've been so thrilled by your comments! I'm so happy you that you've been enjoying this story and are looking forward to the conclusion (which I am working on - it's just happening slowly!). Thanks so much! :D

Well, the thing is--okay. I went to a very liberal church, where we never were supposed to take him seriously. *g* *But* in addition to going to that church's camp, I went to the church camp where most of my classmates went, and that was a very, very fundamentalist church.

And the kids there, even the very serious fundies, mocked people like Dobson, because you're sixteen and they're OLD and GOOFY. So it seemed perfect to me.

That's excellent to hear that it rang true for you! The scene with the Scoobies mocking Dobson was based on me and my friends' reaction to that video at our Christian camp but it's still something I'd wondered: was that just us? But yeah, he is old and goofy - hee! Another friend who'd attended (a different) Christian camp was subjected to waaaay more Dobson than us and told me about him wearing the same outfit in every video.

Cordelia rolls her eyes. “Could you all have missed the point of the video any more?”
“We could try.” Xander places a hand on his chin and nods slowly. “We could think we’re supposed to be counting down from twelve to one. Like a rocket launch.” He replays the image in his head. “That came out more sexual than I’d intended.”
“You’re deranged.” Cordelia tosses her hair. “Seriously.”

Not only were you so helpful when I was writing this chapter, you then delighted me with such an awesome comment!! I had such a blast re-reading your comment and being pleased by how much you quoted - and no need to apologize for lots of quotage, I love it! :) I'm especially thrilled that you enjoyed the "seriously" repetition, it was such fun to write.
