The way you write the powerplays and the politics seems very realistic... good thing Akira's cunning enough to catch on.

Touching memory of Akira's. I'm sure his father would be heartbroken to see his son following in his footsteps.

Is Ogata a yakuza too, mentored by Touya Sr.? I keep expecting him to show up because he seems ready-made for the part! XD

I'm so glad the power plays seemed realistic; I'd rewritten this part four or five times, because believe me, the first draft was a lot more melodramatic. ^^ That memory of Akira's about his father was originally a writing exercise to get myself to better understand Akira (and it did make me empathize a lot more with Akira). Incorporating it into the above part had occurred relatively late, and I'm relieved it doesn't seem too forced.

About Ogata...

You have no idea how hard how close I came to fulfilling your expectation: right before I posted this part, I wrote OMC Murata out, wrote Ogata in. Then I read the new version. And then I wrote Ogata out and Murata in again. XD

Ogata seems so ready-made for the part of a yakuza to me too! But unfortunately, Ogata himself doesn't seem to agree. ^^; But, well, there's more than one way to bell a cat, and I can promise you Ogata is involved with the Touya-gumi. In fact, the plot is counting on it. *g*

Oh oh I love you so much. The YAKUZA? Oh my goodness. I was so excited to read this with just the IDEA in my head. But oh gosh. This exceeds my expectations. You pull it off so WELL. And Yashiro. Woo. That was like. Teehee. I love how you mix canon with this AU. It just flows. So well. I love you. Politics = horrible. hahaha but it's still fun reading.
