the dilemma of opening up
I've been told that I don't get very personal (very often) in here. When I do, I usually keep it vague enough to be factually useless despite the emotional TMI. I tend to write about things that happen in my life or in the world, I post memes, or I ask questions of my readers to get away with not actually having to say anything. Anti-depressants and suicidal behavior
This pisses me off: FDA may expand antidepressant warning
Some people (<14 in 1,000), mostly children and adolescents, with depression kill themselves within the first few weeks of treatment with an anti-depressant. With everything else that's occupying my brain right now (school, work, christmas, no time, arrrrgh) it's weird to notice how much I am also stressed out by the very flawed BCS ranking system and the outcome of today's games. Really, it's just football. But, I mean, it's football. -
Suicide, an open poll
It's been a weird day to be a therapist. Days like today, I don't like my job so much.
An interesting ethical/moral question arose after my last session of the day, which was with a girl who is chronically and persistently suicidal (and quite frankly has every reason to be).
