I'd like to believe that there's enough light in people to keep darkness from truly destroying us. But there are times that I wonder.

I like that she found inspiration in a long forgotten line that so many others before her found inspiration in. Almost like she's continuing the rhythm her mother spoke about without actually being aware of it.

The Darkening sounds like a physical darkening too-- as if the sun left-- and it makes me wonder how that happened. Though perpetual BladeRunner clouds would have a similar effect, too.

I deliberately left that vague, but it was intended to be both physical and metaphorical--the idea being that Meg has never known light in the world.
