Family Matters

My parents came to town this past weekend to visit me and see the new apartment. They haven't been up to the Twin Cities in about four years or so. I think it was cooler during their last visit, except that I discovered as we were leaving CONvergence 2001 to meet them at the airport that I had a flat tire and had to change it and put on a spare. your parents have ipods and play video games? its as if the technology was inherited.

i too stock up on things for the mythical time when i have all the time in the world. at my current rate, i will need to have mono for a year straight, take a sabbatical on a deserted island, and then go straight into a rather isolated retirement in order to read all the books i have stocked up.

Both of my parents have iPods. I doubt my father would have one though if my mother didn't set it up for him. He tends to be somewhat resistant to new technology and easily frustrated by it, but he can appreciate it eventually.

The video games are more of an attempt to understand me and my world, I don't think they tend to play them on their own (although my mother does enjoy some of the more puzzle oriented games like Tetris and Bejeweled).
