So yeah, my record after Week One of "The Tree" (The Plainsman's non-monetary office pool) is 8-2. Not bad, but it's about average for the office as a whole. My Rainbow Warriors failed to defeat Satan and his minions in Tuscaloosa this weekend, and Miami sucked last night, otherwise I'd be undefeated. This week could be, like Dubya, a "decider." Yes, it's the day we commemorate the American worker . . . or not. More than likely, it's the day you sleep 'til noon, forget about catching up on that ever-growing pile of unfinished homework, and dread going back to class the next day. But as for me and my house, we will watch Gremlins, and it will be good.
