Went to the screening and reception for "Friday Night Lights" at the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences this evening, along with azewewish, without_me, and aproposofnothin. Ended up front row for the screening -- they screened the episode "Crossing the Line." Had a fabulous time, and since I have to be up real early in the morning, here are the bulleted highlights:( This got longer than expected )

Thank you so much for posting this. I just discovered FNL, so now I'm just inhaling just about everything that has to do with the show. Your account was wonderful and made me so much that I could have been there. And just for the record I can totally understand azewewish fangirling over Derek Phillips, that man makes my lip quiver. :-)

Did you ever post an account of MTR?

Yay for new converts to the show! When I was talking to Gaius, another woman was talking with him and told him that although she had not been watching the show previously, after seeing the screening last night and learning how good it was, she was going to catch up on season 1 and start watching once the new episodes start, and I thought that was great.

Oh, one more question: did they mention when the DVD will be out?

There wasn't any mention of the DVD at all, come to think on it. Huh, and we totally forgot to ask any of them about it. *laughs*

From interviews and other accounts, I figured these actors were down to earth but they really seem like amazing people. I would have been fangirling all over Zach, Gaius, and Derek, so I defitantly understand. Thanks for sharing your expereince and I'll be sure to check out your MTR review.

Thanks for commenting, it's always interesting to me to see who comes by my LJ to read these recap things! And I've been so impressed with the actors from this show. At the MTR screening I talked to other actors from the show, like Scott and Jesse, and all of them across the board have been so nice and willing to talk about their experiences with the show. It's nice to find a cast that is so enthusiastic and so accommodating to their fans as well.
