Hey, kiddo! I was just thinking about you this morning and how I needed to write. Was wondering how you were doing and if you were keeping super busy.

You have no idea how tickled I am to hear you are thinking of dusting off the writing corner and getting down to a little SGA. The shower is such a wonderful idea generator. Driving several hours usually gets my plotting juices going as well.

I know what you mean about the benefits of reading both good and bad fiction. I've read a few things where I was thinking the fanfiction I read is so much better than this. Like you say, though - make notes about what not to do.

How is Washington? Hope they aren't keeping you too busy. I would dearly love to see an SGA story by you post sometime. Maybe you could get one of those talk to the computer and it types things.

Dragon Naturally Speaking! I've totally looked into that - it would be so much easier and faster for me to just talk and let the words appear on the screen. Once I rid myself completely of roommates (by the end of the summer), I think I will try this option out. I really do think the half-written story has great potential...

Life in Washington is good, otherwise. Just constantly busy. I still try to do as many extracurricular activities as I did when I was in grad school and not working, only I have much much less time to squeeze it all in. I keep trying to cut back but that doesn't seem to be working... I need more hours in the day, or I need to win the lottery (which would technically require that I actually buy a lottery ticket) so I can retire! :)

Yeah, I spend way more time reading. I used to write for hours at a time. I can hardly imagine that now!! Mostly, I can hardly imagine having uninterrupted hours at a time... The good ole days!

Hey! I love it as much as I did when it first came out, but it's so much harder to really dive into it when there aren't new shows (and new canon material!) every week. And it doesn't sound like this re-boot (which I'm trying really hard to withhold judgment on till I see it, but I didn't really like the original movie that much to begin with) will fit the bill.
