Piper had a pretty long day. There were classes followed by the long commute back to Neptune from LA. She was seriously considering asking Bel to shimmer her to class every day to avoid the traffic

Veronica broke several laws getting to the hospital after receiving Phoebe's handwavy phone call.

She broke several more to find out where in the hospital Piper was when no one would give her an answer.

But she finally made it to Piper's room and stood in the doorway, her eyes glistening as they fell on Piper lying in the bed.

Piper looked up when she realized someone was standing in the doorway. "Hey, Veronica. Guess Phoebe called you, huh?"

Veronica nodded. "Yeah. Do they know what's wrong?" she asked, moving in to the room and sitting next to Piper's bed.

"If you can believe it, I have some rare blood disease usually found in South America," Piper said, shaking her head. "Remember the bite I had last week? Apparently, that's how it happened."
