We all know those moments when we walk into a restaurant, look at the menu, and think to ourselves, "Well, gee. Great. A bowl of lettuce and a sliced tomato for only $8.95!"
The sarcasm triggers start firing in your brain, and it's only a deeply-rooted sense of civility that prevents you from saying so to your oblivious waiter or waitress.

I use 3 tbsp per cup of uncooked rice (sprinkled and folded in to the cooked rice) and it doesn't container anywhere near those sorts of amounts.

Heh. Actually, it usually comes out of me as, "It's just FOOD!" And this is why I look at menus before choosing restaurants - I have no problem with them charging more than the grocery store, but only to a point. It's easy here - in the UK, restaurants are apparently required to post their menus outside. In the US, I just ask to see a menu before being seated, if I'm unfamiliar with the place. Hubby and I have no problem walking away from a place if the prices are too high.
So, all that said, thanks for this :-) I shall give it a try, since hubby likes sushi. (And if we wanted to go out for it there's nowhere around here anyways).

i guess it WOULD do me good to get out of the house...
aww man, but the kitchen is a mess. i can't justifiably cook eggs when the sink is full and the stove is splattered with spaghetti sauce! XD
