Using up bread rounds?

I have at least a full loaf of french bread, sliced fairly thin, that wasn't used up eating dips at yesterday's commercial-watching football party.  We could use part of this to make up French toast but does anyone have any other suggestions for how to use this up before it goes impossibly stale?  Thanks!

Make bread and butter pudding - a similar idea to French toast, but more of a dessert than a breakfast. Butter one side of each piece, and put jam / chocolate spread / lemon curd / honey / whatever flavour you fancy on the other half. Layer them up in a dish and pour over an egg/milk mixture. Leave to sit for a while, then top with a little sugar, and bake until golden. Serve with cream - AMAZING. And you can make it in any flavour you want, so it always seems different.

You don't even need the egg- I always just butter one side, sprinkle each layer with cinnamon sugar (and raisins or apples, walnuts) and pour in/over as much milk as it will hold, then let it sit till it starts to puff, and bake all the moisture out-it's done when it's really puffy, like a souffle-and it falls like one too;)
but the nutella sounds really good

soaking them in a egg custard and make it either sweet or savory is perfect for this sort of thing

green onion, spinach with some ham and cheese is delicious

you can make a PB&J bread pudding too (make sandwiches and then soak everything is a egg custard for several hours and bake

I have never heard of savory bread pudding before, but now I wonder whyever not. That sounds awesome.

I always stick stale bread in the food processor once it's gone properly stale and make breadcrumbs.
