Also, congrats. I did terribly over the summer (relatively). I think I wrote 200 new words in August altogether. It was bad.

Are you having better luck with September? I wish taking the time and finding a flow were things that happened easily! September started good for me, but then I got busy with school work and work...this weekend I am doing no school work, so I should write!

September's going better thanks, though definitely not well enough to be able to say I've caught up the missing 15k words haha! Did you manage to write this weekend? Hope you had a good work-free time either way!

Good you got writing done at least. I did not! We went away Saturday (not planned) and Sunday I never got around to it. Ihad hoped to get that and other things that needs doing done today, but I was called into work (I substitute at a school. We'll see what I am up when I'm back home :)

I am so completely jealous of your ability to write as much as you have. It's been a year long jealousy, I believe? Sort of remember saying something similar at the beginning of the year.

How do you start writing when you just don't feel like it?

Thank you! <3 Though I think my lack of words over the summer probably means I am not the best person to give advice! :D

I find the thing that most motivates me to write is when I know I have to for a challenge or community. Or when I'm writing a prompt for someone else and I'm looking forward to seeing what they think! Those apply more to fanfic than original fic I guess, I'm not sure which you're aiming for? But there are some communities that do challenges for original fic too, I am contemplating joining some!

Tbh I have also occasionally tried to bribe myself with cake! "Write 200 words and you can have a doughnut!" Probably not healthy o.O

That probably makes you the best person to give advice because it shows that you do sometimes struggle with getting words out and that it is possible for other people that can't manage to write every single day.

Dang, that probably wouldn't work for me. I shy away from people reading anything I write. Half the time I don't even admit to writing. The idea of openly sharing my work, especially waiting to see what someone thinks of it, is scary as heck. So that's pretty awesome that you can do that.

I think it depends on the doughnut, if it's a raspberry filled doughnut aren't you technically getting a serving of fruit? It's easy for me to rationalize unhealthy decisions.

Aww, I bet you don't need to be scared about sharing your work! I can tell you're an awesome writer just from your LJ posts!

I don't think I'd ever get round to writing anything if I didn't have comments on my fics to look forward to haha. *is comment whore*

Hmm well at the minute I don't have jelly filled ones, but they do have strawberry icing on, so that's sort of a fruit too, right? :D
