The Honest Kitchen folk seem like really good people and so does the company in general.

I "liked" or "friended" them on FB and they sent me a huge box of sample packets and some t-shirts just for posting a picture of Gracie playing at the dog park. I wear the t-shirt all the time and Gracie LOVES the food -- I wish I could put her on it full-time but it is just so expensive.

I've been thinking of trying the Prowl for our cat to see if he would like it. It's expensive, but maybe in a rotation it would be doable.

We feed Cora about a third of a cup twice a day, added to her kibble. You'd be surprised how long that box will last, that way! It is expensive, which sucks... but because it works and is such a good product, I have struggled to keep her on it.

I don't think there would be any way we could keep her on it as the main food, ever... I couldn't afford that much of it plus the ground meat... :/

That's actually a really good idea -- I never thought of adding the base formula to her kibble. I've given her meals with the kinds that already have the protein in them -- I think Zeal, Embark, and Verve.

When you give the Preference with the kibble, do you still add water to it? I would think yes. Sometimes Gracie can be picky about eating JUST the kibble -- and I have her on Acana, so it's not crappy kibble! -- for dinner I add about 1/4 can of wet food to it, but I bet the Preference would be great for adding to breakfast. And then do you reduce the amount of kibble or give the same amount as you would without using the Preference?
