Final Oscar Thoughts

It feels sad to say, but I think I may have outgrown the Oscars. I don't think I've ever been so "meh" about a ceremony since I've started watching. The magic and the movie-love was just missing. As far as the hosts, it was like Anne Hathaway was trying to exert all the effort, energy and enthusiasm James Franco lacked. She was a bit too "excited puppy leaking pee" as a result :P Cute but annoying.

But Tiny Ball of Light was one of my most favorite things evar.

It was a rather bizarre Oscars this year, wasn't it? I think James Franco is awesome (and I feel sorry for him, because I think if 127 Hours had been released in any other year, he would have stood a very strong chance of walking away with Best Actor), but he just didn't seem to engage with the proceedings at all.

Colin Firth's speech was fabulous - a well-deserved win.
