Listening to the recording with my dad. This is simultaneously the best Christmas story, the best flying story, and the best ghost story I know. As well as the only Vampire story I really like.

It's a beautiful story, well worth finding via interlibrary loan. Or CBC.ca has the CD available, read by a lovely old English guy named Alan Maitland.

Ah, that kind of Vampire. :) I saw one of those at the RAF museum on the final day of our London trip. A cute little aircraft with a long range, if I remember correctly.

I have a feeling I've heard the story on the radio, but the details escape me. Must look out for it again.
