We have a writers' group meeting this Sunday and I'm working on my notes for the group mate who's finished her first draft. Have decided to go with "frank but not unkind," so I'm reviewing what I've got written to remove any extra modifiers or phrases that might only serve to pound home a point I made already

I have the same reaction to cough medicine--that weird dreaming state that isn't sleep but isn't wakefulness. Last night I dreamed I was talking to my old history professor, but for some reason, he had a hook instead of a left foot, which I only noticed while searching through our picnic basket... Well, yeah, that kind of dream.

I love how those dreams make complete sense at the time and it's only later that you think, "Wha--?" I hope you feel better soon. I think I'll take my chances with the cough tonight!

I find some kinds of cold meds knock me out, but then others make me all wired and dizzy. I'm so glad I take the bus to work because my head is not entirely clear yet!
