What is the difference between a "wallpaper scraper" and a "putty knife"?  They are both wide metal half-moon-like blades on a hand-sized plastic stick.  I'm guessing that - contrary to the thing you might guess from the names, the scraper is a sharpened blade that could actually cut you, whereas the knife is more of a spatula thing, not in fact a ( Read more... )

Putty knives are much usually narrower than wallpaper scrapers, and I think are more flexible as well. You can get putty knives in different widths, I think, but the standard width is not that wide. I've used them mostly to scrape gum off the bottom of desks.
