my mini fender bender fiasco

Two weeks ago I got into a mini fender bender. I was going to pick up Bodhi (my dog) from his girlfriends house and it occurred in their horrible driveway. Their driveway is really steep and it has a weird parking situation. It is narrow at the start and then widens up toward the top. It's kinda hard to picture if you haven't seen it, but oh well. I'm sorry you had to go through that, but I'm glad no one was hurt and there wasn't any serious damage. As for the bit about insurance, it might be better that it's on your grandmother's insurance because as a young driver any accident is likely to make your rates skyrocket. And the person who was in motion is always at fault for fender benders, no matter what, which may not be the best thing in all circumstances but them's the rules. I'm glad you're okay, and I know it can be frustrating when you're driving somebody else's car and it works a bit differently than your own.

Thanks. I was kinda figuring I would end up being at fault, but when I reported the claim the insurance agent said that they could interpret it either way since the other person should have given me the right of way and moved out of the way apparently. Unfortunately they didn't see it that way. I am glad that it probably won't go on my insurance (unless the damage is over a certain $ amount), but if it does raise their rates I'll feel really bad.

Oh man, I'm sorry about that; hopefully their insurance won't be affected too much. I've had that problem with automatics too, especially on hills, but I agree with Robynne on this one; the main thing is that everyone involved is okay. And on the bright side, it's good to know your grandparents' car is durable, besides just being good for the environment.

Yes, the car is amazingly durable. I'm glad it wasn't any worse and no one was hurt, but of course it is still a crappy situation. I'll just be glad when it's all in the past.
