Riley

My beloved Riley is at Coastway Emergency centre - since 5:15pm. Since late morning he had been coughing - like a screech - and then sneezing. He had already thrown up his breakfast which contained a long blade of grass (thanks neighbour who doesn't cut her meadow like grass). I suspected that Riley had another blade stuck under his soft palate. ( Read more... )

Vet care is akways costly, but at least it was something simple and treatable. I wish him well.

If he's a huggable cat, hug him for me. If not, give him a few pats for me. I know how much he means to you and I've come to love him, too. :)

Riley is not a huggable cat but he does occasionally sit on my lap. I've given him a few pats from Deborah!

Thanks, Mike. Have you seen this cartoon of a man with a cat on his lap, and he's speaking on the phone: "What do you mean, it's not a good enough excuse to miss Jury Duty?"

How scary and horrible for you. I'm to hear all seems to be well and hope it remains so. I share your dread of being without a dearly loved animal friend. Let's pray we all have some good times left together.

His behaviour has changed this morning. Not eating although he has had his meds in milk. I shall monitor him through the day. Might be down to the effect of the anaesethic.

Oh no, how awful for you and for Riley. Thank goodness there was a solution.
