Ah, such a handsome boy... Sorry there's no definite improvement, but it's very early days. You're lucky to be able to get home visits from the vet. It must reduce the stress considerably.
Trusting that the hormone levels and medication levels will be sorted out quickly.
Is there a medical need for you to be observing the phlebotomy procedure? I can understand quite readily if the veterinarian wants you to hold Riley, which I imagine would reassure and soothe him considerably, but is it necessary for you to watch the blood "draw" as it is done? If not, then it seems your own stress level might be reduced by not watching.
I understand completely why you are there. You wrote, though:

Many people find it distressing to see a procedure being done, specifically when blood is involved. I've asked if there's a medical necessity for you to watch, to see blood being drawn and if not, then simply do not look.
